Ashica Niles

Ashica Niles was born in Jersey City, NJ.  At the age of six, she moved to New York with her mother. When Ashica was nine years old, she was fortunate enough to meet the late John Peterson (author of The Littles series) when he visited her fourth grade class.  Around that time, Ashica discovered that she had a gift for telling stories. As a child, her story-telling was expressed through writing song lyrics.

It wasn’t until she moved to Albany, NY as an adult that she became inspired to write children’s books. As a mother of a young boy, Ashica was shocked to hear the profanity that regularly flowed from the mouths of a significant number of boys in her new neighborhood.  It was then that she decided to write “Mickey J, What Do You Say?: A Story About Manners”, in hopes that young boys will be inspired to use their manners more.

Ashica’s book is due out sometime in 2012.
